AI is becoming a big thing in schools. Some people think it’s cheating, but others think it’s just another tool that can help students learn better. I made a podcast about this topic where me and others talked about both sides. You can watch it right here in the post if you want to hear the full debate.
Why I Chose This Topic
I wanted to talk about this because I see students getting in trouble for using AI, even when they’re not doing anything wrong. Sometimes AI helps you understand things faster. It’s not always about letting it do the work for you. It can explain things in a way that makes sense, like a tutor that’s always there when you need it.
How AI Can Help
AI can save a lot of time. If you’re stuck on an essay or a coding problem, you can ask it for ideas or explanations. In my podcast, one of the people said it’s like having a smart friend who never sleeps. I’ve used AI myself for school projects when I didn’t understand what went wrong in my code. It explained the problem in simple words, and I actually learned from it.
The Problems With AI
But AI isn’t perfect. Sometimes it gives wrong information, and if you copy it word for word, you don’t really learn anything. Some students just let it do all their work, and that makes teachers lose trust. That’s why I think teachers should guide us on how to use it the right way, not just block it.
Final Thoughts
Students should be allowed to use AI, but we need to use it to learn, not cheat. It can be a tool to make school work easier and more creative. Watch the podcast below to see how we broke down both sides of this argument.
